The serious bit
Privacy Policy.
Short version: Shreekd runs on your iPhone. We don't upload your videos, we don't sell your data, and we've kept this page in plain English. The long version is below.
Last updated April 17, 2026
1. Who we are
Shreekd (“we,” “us,” “our”) is an iOS app that lets you prank your friends with a nose-controlled maze game that secretly records their reaction. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't.
If anything here is unclear, email us at our support page.
2. What Shreekd does with the camera and microphone
The whole point of the app is the face-tracking maze and the reaction recording. When you grant camera and microphone permissions:
- Face tracking. The front camera and Apple's Vision framework detect your nose position to move the ball in the maze. The tracking data never leaves your device.
- Reaction recording. During the final maze level, the front camera and microphone record a short video of the person holding the phone. That video is stored in the app's private container on your device.
- We never upload, stream, or receive that video. It stays on the device until the person holding the phone chooses to share it, save it to the Photos app, or delete it.
3. A heads-up about pranking people
Shreekd is a prank app. Pranks are funny when everyone's in on them eventually. A few things we expect of you:
- Only prank people who are OK with being pranked and recorded.
- Tell them afterward. Seriously.
- Get their permission before posting the video anywhere public.
- Some places (parts of the EU, a handful of US states, and elsewhere) require consent from everyone in a recording. If you're unsure, ask first.
You — the person pressing “Start Prank” — are the controller of that video. We're not.
4. What we collect
4.1 Stored on your device only
- Reaction videos you record.
- Your prank history, counter, and preferences.
- A small tamper-resistant counter (stored in the iOS Keychain) so the free monthly prank limit works offline.
4.2 Sent to third parties (not us)
- Apple (StoreKit / App Store): Handles subscription purchases and renewals. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
- RevenueCat (subscription management, if enabled): Receives anonymous, device-level identifiers so we can tell whether your subscription is active. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Firebase Analytics (if enabled): Anonymous, aggregated product metrics — screen opens, prank completions, crash reports. No personally identifying information. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Google AdMob (free-tier only, if enabled): Shows non-personalized ads between pranks. We'll always ask first via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before anything personalized happens.
4.3 What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address.
- We do not upload your reaction videos to any server.
- We do not sell your data. Anywhere. Ever.
- We do not use IDFA without your explicit App Tracking Transparency consent.
5. Subscriptions
Shreekd Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through the App Store. Apple handles billing; we just receive a verified receipt saying “this person is Pro.” You can manage or cancel in Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions.
6. Children
Shreekd is rated 12+ on the App Store for infrequent/mild horror themes. It is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, email our support page and we'll delete it.
7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / etc.)
Because Shreekd doesn't store your personal information on any server we control, there's very little for us to export or delete on our end. Still, you have the right to:
- Ask us what we have (spoiler: almost nothing).
- Request deletion of any data we might hold (anonymous analytics events can be purged on request).
- Object to analytics — just toggle analytics off in Settings inside the app.
- Uninstall the app. All local data goes with it.
Send requests to our support page.
8. Security
Reaction videos live in the app's sandboxed container and are protected by iOS file-level encryption. Subscription entitlements are verified against Apple's servers on every launch. The prank counter is stored in the iOS Keychain.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here. For big changes (new data categories, new third parties), we'll show an in-app notice.
